Empowered Women is a thematic program by Gandhara Independent Film Festival, an initiative of Cirque Films. Started in 2022, Empowered Women celebrates women filmmakers, highlight inclusive themes and empower women storytellers across all digital platforms. The idea behind making an exclusive women-led festival is to bring the necessary diversity change in the independent film landscape and to make room for broadened perspectives in all areas of cinematic world.
Every year, GIFF aims to empower women storytellers by learning their stories and giving them a globally empowered film-showcase platform. The goal is to let conversations around new themes emerge with every women generation in the digital world. Empowered Women is an embodiment of female perspective coming around independent film cinema.
